COLORADO AREA!****** *This position is expected to work swing shift
Sat/Sun/Mon 3p-3a. Schedules are subject to change based on the
needs of the Hospital and Department. Training days/hours TBD**This
position will pay $24-$35 hourly DOE plus swing shift
differential.*Overall Responsibility: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Technicians primary responsibility is to provide advanced care for
the hospitalized patients that are deemed critical and stable
according to the veterinarians evaluation and AESCs defined levels
of hospitalization. This individual will assess patients and
facilitate treatments under the direction of the supervising
veterinarian. They will have excellent communication with the
supervising veterinarian and address concerns with the patients as
they arise. The ICU Technician is expected to work with all
doctors, technicians, and assistants to perform diagnostics and
execute treatment plans for the hospitalized patient.Essential Job
Responsibilities: Provides excellent and advanced patient care to
every hospitalized patient. Assist veterinarians with exams,
treatments and procedures that need to be done. Perform standard
technician duties including patient restraint, venipuncture, SQ
Fluids, radiographs, medication administration as ordered by a
veterinarian, obtain and process laboratory samples, handle and
dispense medications by veterinarian orders. Collaborate with all
departments across the hospital to ensure that all patients receive
the best possible patient care. Immediately respond to and assist
with STAT calls and follow the appropriate patient care protocols.
Maintain accurate paperless medical records utilizing EzyVet and
Smartflow.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of medical and financial
practices, including creating estimates and discussing with the
owners, collecting payment, and discharging patients. Demonstrate
compassion and care in all interactions. Attending department and
staff meetings.
- Contribute to the overall needs, cleanliness, and organization
of the hospital. Perform sedation and anesthesia according to
established hospital protocols (induction, maintenance, monitoring
and recovery).
- Other duties as needed.Minimum Requirements: High School
diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of Veterinary
Technician experience required. Veterinary Technician
Certification/Registration. Applicants may apply if they are in the
process of obtaining CVT/RVT as well.Preferred Requirements: Strong
technical skills to provide excellent and efficient patient care.
Ability to multitask and anticipate needs. Excellent communication
skills in all areas including clients, staff, and leadership. Great
work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to adhere to strict
attendance policies. Ability to handle fluctuation in caseload and
emergency situations.Physical Requirements: This job is physically
active and requires frequent bending, standing, routine lifting and
restraining of animals that exceed 50lbs.Benefits: Health
